I love these two so much.
The first glimpse at the story of Kahina (obviously she's older in this image) and Chihiro .

Music for these two: link - also where I stole the title from. And when those strings pick up at 3:32... hnnnng all my feels. (Headcannon: Those strings are Chihiro entering into Kahina's life essentially. Bringing with them sweetness and harmony, don't laugh at my fluffy...)
This is also my 300th deviation, I feel it's fitting. Hahaha someone can't count.

Flashes of battle.

Blood.

Pain.

Death.

It wasn’t the first time she had witnessed this vision. Nor would it be the last.

The hand of Time guided her here often.

Forced her to watch as so many died.

The smell of fire and burning flesh was strong in her mind tinged with the ripe odor of fear. Sounds echoed around her, metal on metal together with the sounds of screaming created a haunting melody. Bodies tossed aside like a child might throw their toys, broken and lifeless. High above the field shadows circled slowly in the air thick with smoke, dragons reduced to the purpose of vultures, waiting to feast. She knew the chaos was coming; it was the inevitability of Time. Though she could not be sure the day, or even the year, she knew that at some point while, she remained here, this destruction would occur. Unable to close her eyes she watched helplessly.

Her physical body remained motionless through the vision, save for the single tear that traveled down her cheek. Aisling watched this from a distance, her heart moved at the sight of the young mare, Kahina’s, pain. Resigned though, that nothing would make Time release Kahina before it was ready, Aisling stood guard for the mare’s tangible form.

Another horse collapsed to the ground at her metaphysical feet, a wheezing breath forcing bubbles of blood to trail down the side of their mouth. Kahina could only hope she would not know this horse personally when the time came, that she would not be able to place a name to the face twisted in agony.

It was why she avoided creating close relationships with others. Couldn’t risk the chance that she would travel across Time and see their fate. Aisling was the only one who seemed to be safe from her visions. The ancient mare was a force unto herself and Time seemed to respect that.

Staring into the eyes of this horse somewhere ahead in the future Kahina watched the last light fade from their eyes, terror frozen on their face. Her heart ached, she was sure she could not bear to watch anymore.

Time’s hand drew her away from the vision of suffering and twisted back on itself. Still in the future she subconsciously recognized, but closer to the present. The image as it came into focus this time was of her.

That was new.

Never before had Time deemed it necessary to show Kahina an image of herself. She stood in her clearing, the one place she felt safe from the world. For a moment the vision was still, the future form of Kahina grazing contentedly. Suddenly there was movement at the edge of the vision and another horse approached. Fair in coat with the markings of a deer, another Nordanner, like Kahina. As the other horse came more into focus Kahina felt her heart being tugged. Light broke through the trees bathing the new mare in its warming glow. An incredible feeling of longing and hope filled Kahina as she watched the scene unfold. This was a horse to pay attention to.
