In the early days of the Empire, a prototype TIE Striker was developed, but never made the final product, decades later, the prototype ended up in the hands of the Trodar Dominion. With significant improvements on the design, the TIE Wasp would be born. Introduced in 31 ABY, the Dominion's forces would employ this fighter in almost any circumstance. The TIE Wasp is designed to fly in atmosphere and in space. The TIE wasp is very cheap, but highly durable and long-range, with multi-role munitions launchers for harder, or further targets. Even starfighters out of sight can be targeted. There have been recent developments to upgrade the TIE Wasp's design.

Here we have a TIE Wasp from the elite squadron, Firestorm Squadron.
