Description
These are concepts for "Dash" from the LAWLESS universe.Dash is a middle aged man, who wears a helmet that was originally part of an advanced prototype made for military purposes by his father. When Dash's father was murdered he swore to take vengeance and wears the helmet for a way to remember his father but also as protection.
Dash carries two things with him at all times: 1. The time flicker, a device which allows him to travel through time up to 23 seconds and 2. a .38 snub-nose revolver. He always wears a suit and carries himself like a gentleman
I'd like peoples input on these designs and what you all think. These are also part of much larger LAWLESS artbook that will be available around March.

This sounds like it would make a wonderful comic book. The idea is very compelling.

I really love this concept and design, he has quite a bit of character. However as the art goes, I think that he should only have one cylinder coming out of the back of his head. When there are two it reminds me of rabbit ears, and it detracts from image by giving it unnecessary levity.
Anyway my two bits, keep up the good work, love your art.

indeed, but if it was one bit then it would be continuing everybody elses seen view on how things should be, when with art your meant to create your own style and view on things.

design looks awesome, but the story of WHY he wears that helmet is a bit soso...

for some reason it reminds me of the cybermen from Dr. Who.

I think you should combine the first faceplate with the second helmet. There is something fastidious and elegant by looks of him. It's a great character concept, one I would grow to love simply on the fact he is unique in personality. Contrasting in a few subtle ways to the lawlessness of LAWLESS. lol

3 and 5 looks like he has pigtails, so nay to those two....plus 5 has an mad underbite! lol.
2 seems to be the most intresting one, but it loks like his helmet cover is off and you are seeing exposed machinery...dope though...
i would have to agree with CHaotic, the transparent glass makes it look like a helmet rather than a robot......

WOW!
1. looks the most robust and fits the description as a military prototype the others seem a little too mad scientist. However I like the line segmentation on the faceplate on 2. and 4. and think you should incorporate them into 1.
I also like 5s head side detail, as well as the extra treatment to life-support. Overall a great character design and a great concept. It's very Iron Man combined with Men In Black with a touch of James Bond.
I can hear him saying some insightful commentary to whatever dire situation he's in. A very cool minded fellow. Again well done.

it looks like the front part of the helmet is made of untransparent glass, that hides everything except eyes which shine veeeery bright. And that was really great! On this cocepts it's more like his head was replaced with robotic head, and it makes him NOT HUMAN who swore to take vengeance, but a machine. But fuckme these concepts are very cool too!))) (and sorry for my shitty language
