This was part of a set of doodles I did of the Sonic characters a few years into the future. Particularly this version of Tails came about when a friend of mine threw out a theory, how Tails might end up with a little bit of a dark edge when he's older. You know, how the good guy genius gets downplayed too much because nobody can relate to his smarts? (And this is where Eggman and his level of intelligence comes in, so ends his theory.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my next decade Tails.

Nice. Years ago I had a timeline in mind, based on Sonic SatAM, where Robotnik captures Tails, uses him as bait to lure Sonic into a trap, and even succeeds in killing the hedgehog right in front of Tails. tails blames himself for Sonic's death, and he slowly changes from the sweet kid he was into a vengeful, mean s.o.b. who's turned to building weapons and his own robots to fight Robotnik. Yay for childhood mental trauma!
Anyhow, this is an awesome pic. I love how he's gotten a little scruffy looking. Maes him look a little less pure and innocent. This is sort of how I envisioned that storyline to make him look a year or two after the incident.

Wow Tails looks so awsome here, it shows he no longer needs Sonic or Knuckles to protect him.

As an avid Tails fan, I love that kind of character development you just discussed. It puts the character in the line of a tragedy, becoming more an anti-hero. I love the drawing too

Thank you so much! I really value character development,and I think that would be an awesome plot twist for Tails. The only other person he knows of on Mobius that shares his intelligence is Eggman... you never know what that would bring in the future. ;3
