Description
1) the arrows indicate rhythm. These rhythms will lead your eye through the drawing.2) Add structure. Build the figure out of simple shapes.
3) Connect your structure together by using your rhythms.

Very useful post. Not to be the nagging old man here but I do wish some of the younger artist on deviantart would take note of your figure drawings as a tool to improve. I know I will.

I have a LOT of trouble with figure drawing, by the way, if you look at my gallery you'll see. In my class, they focus on rendering and my gesture gets lost. Not that it was solid in the first place.
Would you mind giving some quick advice to help capture the story in the gesture?
