In the midst of the chaos in enemy territory, Takeru exacts revenge on the lord of the land who has slaughtered his clan. He proceeds through the misty forest, escaping his pursuers. At his side are two young children.
They are the children of his enemy. They are the ones he should have killed on the spot. However, when Takeru saw the crying children in the burning castle, he may have been reminded of himself as a child. Takeru exited the castle with them.

In a time of war, the children of the enemy must be destroyed in order to cut off the fear of retribution.
If Takeru continues to protect these children without handing them over to the leaders of the army after he come back to his allies, he will face considerable internal criticism. Many will suspect that Takeru is ambitious to use them as puppets to take control of the army. The only people who will remain truly on Takeru's side may be those who truly trust and admire him.
Many of the surviving members of the old feudal lord's family will hate Takeru intensely as the enemy who killed their lord, and will also seek to take his life in order to recover the orphaned children in order to rebuild the clan.

Children are still too young to understand the situation, but they will eventually grow up and face the reality that Takeru killed their father. Will they still be able to adore Takeru, or will they stand up to him as his enemies...?

What will Takeru do in the future? No matter where he goes, it is a thorny path that lies there. When he held a small warmth in his breast, the intelligent Takeru must have known that. Still, he could not shun them. He was determined to protect them.
