I'm glad you like the Patrick doodle..I was so happy I nailed it riht away...I inked and painted Patrick right from this sketch!

You sketched it directly on the tablet or with a a pencil rough sketch?

It looks like I scanned in a really quick pencil scribble, then built up the SpongeBob and Patrick characters drawing on the tablet. The really thin lines (on Squidward and the background) are the scanned in pencils. The bolder lines and grey tone strokes are drawn on the tablet.
