i've liked drawing since i was a kid, but until a few years back, i was never getting any better at it. a lot of artists will tell you the same basic advice for improvement: just draw. but what they don't tell you is to study what you draw and learn from references. maybe it's implied and i'm just stupid, but when i decided to start drawing more often and make a solid effort to improve, i was really into adventure time. like, really. and i drew stuff like this all the time until i found the entire kim possible series online and moved onto that obsession. lel. anyway, now that i've developed a preferred style, it was hard to go back and try to draw these characters like penn ward. it was like setting myself a challenge. but i like it

also: pb and marcy's outfits are from a comic short called 'axe before taking'
