She can still somewhat see. It mostly will just look blurry and take her longer to identify things. Like she can hear peopleβs voices and can tell where they are, but theyβll look like colored somewhat splotchy blobs to her.

Yes but there is an option where she survives for a short time. In the comic I plan to do that and I imagine that the scratches happened when she turned.
