Number two of the new character profiles. There are actually two versions of Kaede's design, since she gets a haircut later in the story.

Description:

Kaede is the first one Yaro meets after waking up. Though at first hostile, she decides to help him and offers him a place to stay.

Kaede doesn't talk much and generally avoids social interactions. She's harsh and frank when talking.

When first meeting her, many find her a bit frightening due to her demeanour, eyepatch and red eye colour. Not completely unjustified as Kaede is no one to mess with. She's skilled in sword fighting and has powerful magical abilities.

Kaede was born in Akamori, but didn't stay there for too long. She has little memory of her birth mother, since she was given to a foster mother, called Nana Harada, at a young age. Nana would shortly after move towards the south, where she worked as a castle maid. However, Nana ended up getting at the bad side of the empire, was accused of treason and soldiers were coming to her home to arrest her. Nana was worried about Kaede and sent her away to get to safety, while she fought off the soldiers. During that fight, she was killed.

Kaede ended up hiding in a forest for several years. There she began to further develop her fighting skills, so she can one day take vengeance on the empire.
