I worked a lot on my projects today and just yelled to myself, "SCREW IT, I NEED MORE PERSONAL ART. AGAIN."So that's what happened here. lawl
I also drew this in the intent that he was glaring at the viewer, but I got the idea to show who he REALLY was growling/glaring at. A hungry wolf. (It looks rather small because I didn't want it to take up even more room)
If that wolf gets any closer, it will be ripped to shreds.
Were Pierce is so much fun to draw, oh my gosh~ <3 And seeing him very protective of his children makes me happy. ;w; VERY HAPPY. <3
I may draw a follow-up picture to this, too. WE SHALL SEE. Tomorrow I get back to class work. XD

So were most male bat demons would usually not even come into contact with their children, Peirce not only comes into contact with them but has a fatherly instinct to protect them rather than just say, eat them like a male wolf or lion might to prompt the females to be ready for breeding again? What is the general psychology behind this instance? Are some bat demon males capable of recognizing their own children and even defending them? I think I had read that SOME rare pairs stayed together on occasion but as far as child rearing went, I still assumed it fell onto the female to guard the pups and that she might even go as far as to drive the male off while the pups were young like a denning female canid might.

Even without contact, a male batdemon will know if it's their offspring or not. They will not kill their own offspring, since they are trying to populate the area with their own genes. So, they'll only kill other male's offspring and will rape the female, as the female wants NOTHING to do with that male that just killed her offspring.
Pierce is still an oddity since he refuses to kill other male's offspring unless they hit puberty. He'll still rape the female, however... and just leave her very confused and bewildered.
But his were form will kill other offspring. He's way more in-tune with his instincts in that form.
And yes, only the female protects the offspring when it comes to northern bat demons. The male doesn't stick around.
But again, Pierce is an oddity. He actually has motherly instincts, not fatherly instincts, since his kind as males aren't fatherly. lawl
If he could lactate he'd feed them that way. XD;;

I really enjoy the thought and mutations of behavior or physical mutations you put into the bat demon kind. It makes them a very realistic creature since oddities show up in other species too.

wolves are predators they are naturally aggressive to most other living things and they are known for being just as protective of their young so its simply part of nature that one would attack another and they other would defend its young. people can hate all they want art is art

So were Pierce can recognize his own children? Doesn that mean he recognizes Rose as well, and were Hunter will recognize his parents and sister?

I'm still trying to figure out how Rose will "meet" werePierce, because in the beginning he does not remember anything the normal form has done.
But when Rose has the kids, it will be at a time that werePierce knows her very well. She wants him to know the kids, too, so she gets Pierce to transform for her to introduce them to him. That, plus his scent on them, makes it go over easy for Pierce and he's instantly attached.
It will be different with Hunter.
