Widemouth Bay near Bude, which is where I live. I know of a couple of kiteboarders who go there. Do you kiteboard then? I only surf. I'm intrigued how one starts kiteboarding...

Aaah I was wrong then, It looks like the break off the end of the saunton point.

Kiteboarding is alot of fun but ridiculously expensive. Its still a kind of elite sport with rather strange pecking orders, a bit like the surf classes, ie longboarders hate short boarders who in turn hate bodyboarders etc.

Im a kite and mountain boarding instructor in the summer months and concentrate on land boarding and buggying over kite surfing as its easier, more accessable and alot cheaper to get into.


Been kiting for 5+yrs now and its cost me alot of cash and a couple of weeks in A&E here and there.
Hurts just as much though.

Interesting, sounds painful but also a lot of fun. I think I need to perfect surfing first, it's still a little too cold for me to venture out into the surf (being a wussy girl).

and so makes me want to go surfing. I have a cold at the moment and the sea is freezing and I'm being a wuss, lol.
