Description
The 1955 Mercedes Benz 190 SL roadster - The basic shape of the body is done - a lot of tweaking to be done - but overall it's now workable...(And for those that watch me - obviously Blender is working exceptionally well again)...
I will be making the seats and dash next to 'give myself a break' from the body - as it is a bit tedious, and I think that I will have to subdivide it another 3 times just to have enough vertices to get the final shape...
The seats in this car are especially fun (I've made a few seats so this will not be hard) - but it's a two part seat and is connected at the sides with a stainless steel (or maybe it was chrome) L shaped part, the top is hinged to lay forward in order to use the small storage behind the seat (probably about 3 paper grocery bags would fit if one was one the driveline hump.)
Comments are welcome - but harsh ones are not needed as I know this is my first car model.

Youre using blender. Why? Also have you done this from blueprints because to me the back looks a little long and where the bonnet meets the grille in the front yours just ends but on the real car it curves slightly. Just observations.

I did do it from prints, and it's also why I've dropped this project, I could NOT for the life of me get this body shape to look correct...

Fair enough. Try a different car. You probably chose one of the most difficult cars to start with.

I might at some later date try another car, and even later than that I may try to redo this one.

Your model is looking good, and is progressing well.
By the way, your gallery comes highly recommended by your daughter. She is obviously very proud of what her dad has done.

Thank you - this model has been put to the side for 'bigger things', eventually however I will comeback and rework the body for this and finish it...

What dark spots?
Looks great!!
Can you make a tutorial on how you did the body?

I probably could - but I'll have to do it with the next one as I didn't save any of the midpoint images of the making on this one... (which is bad because I usually save at least a couple of those - just for my own reference)...

Somehow I kinda thought you hadn't saved the intermediate steps.

Its something I usually do.... I just really kind of plowed throw that one tho, so I didn't save very often at all and then I was saving on the previous save (which is default for Blender)...

Thanks, have a long way to go on the body itself, all in time it will get done...

Rendering the view of the seats now - they are the red I'm thinking for the interior - but the rest of the interior has no color yet.

Thanks... I'm trying to work out how to shape the lines that are above the front and rear wheel openings .... and I will need to get the windscreen and it's support at the correct angle and 'curve' - tail lights (did some 'hated them' - so deleted them...)

Yeah, I watch the awesomeness that is Russ - not only can he manipulate an image to 'hook up a car' but he can do the actually fully 3d of the car... amazing he is....
