I use 3DS Max myself can't stand Blender, although it's useful as a dev tool as not all games have Max support.

Love the Spectre. Used to be my favorite ship a long time ago.

I found Blender to have a 'learning curve' that was different - as 3DS Max has plenty of books and a ton of online information - Blender has no book and only a limited online information source...

I do like Blender now that I've learned how to use most of it's abilities.... but I've a lot more to learn... especially on it's animation abilities...

Alright. Those are officially out of my league.

So I will just do the starry-eyed "TANKIE!" thing.

It's not 'that hard' to learn... if it was I wouldn't have been able to learn.

It's 2.42a - I always give them a month before getting the 'newest version'

You see, I'm not even getting as far as multiple views. My bumbling around...

Your bumbling 'because your not using multiple views' - you really have to think 'in 3d'

I prefer orbit. The swoop and zoom method. I don't know why, I just do.

I seem to get a better feel for the piece as a whole.

Each part of the screen (views) can be either bounding box, wireframe, solid, shaded or textured - so it does allow you to 'see' what your doing in different ways depending on your need at the time.
