ur welcome, i don't know that game - with my 28.8kb dial-up - online

It's browser based so you could actually play it on 28.8 dial up (although it would be dangerous, as the back grounds in space would load slowly and you'd be a target until it finished loading each time...)

I have played, but really takes too much time to play for me, as I prefer to spend time on Pardus and creating art.

I've been getting my kids ready for school, and such so things should settle out to a normal again, so I can have time to create again

I agree! Cool! Primitives and meta balls? This is quite an achievement. I should know. It's difficult to make anything at all. Then to make it look good too! And in Blender!

No metaballs - only Meshes (mostly cubes that I subdivided )

Ah! Subdivision! Handy tool!

SiathLinux In reply to markopolio [2007-06-04 18:43:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah - subdividing, smoothing faces, and smoothing points - that's the way I make a 'smooth' yet shaped object - but I always start with a cube.

Do I remember that Blender only does cube primitives? That you then modify? No cone, or anything?

SiathLinux In reply to markopolio [2007-06-05 18:02:38 +0000 UTC]
Cones never do quite what I want them to , cubes - that's the key

Know anything about how the meta spheres work? I need to do blood, and I think I can model it, if I only knew meta objects..

SiathLinux In reply to markopolio [2007-06-08 19:48:42 +0000 UTC]
I've played with them - they are not controlled by the surface - they are controlled by a 'box' around them - which can make for interesting shapes - also - you'll need a nice image of water - maybe an extreme close up of water in a very clean square plastic container (after getting image - make sure all you have is just the water itself - save if as a .gif and as a .jpg - then transform it to black and white and save it again as a .bmp) use the .jpg with mostly transparancy set... use the .gif with mostly transpancy set and use the .bmp as the 'bump' texture)...

You know, I think I caught that. I'll try it. First though, I'll be happy when I can get decent looking gray blood. Which implies that I can actually maneuver the meta objects. Do I remember something about a kind of magnetic tolerance, and interaction?

erm it's 'gravity' - but I haven't messed with that yet - it is supposed to affect the objects 'ull' towards (you set the point to pull towards)

Gravity! That's what I'm talking about! I'm going to practice tonight on making blood.

SiathLinux In reply to markopolio [2007-06-13 21:25:57 +0000 UTC]
- Gravity effects everything - you would need to be careful to make sure it only affects the 'drops' you want to be effected.

markopolio In reply to SiathLinux [2007-06-13 21:40:57 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, I would want some sort of spray effect, If I can do it. At least on some of the blood stuff...

SiathLinux In reply to markopolio [2007-06-13 21:45:15 +0000 UTC]
You'd have to 'rotate' the object 'AFTER' doing the gravity effects - ie turning the gravity with the object...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
markopolio In reply to SiathLinux [2007-06-13 21:57:36 +0000 UTC]
Which would then have gravity affect it dropping, then rotated, affect them for a more natural force, and gravity effect. Poser has "wind" which may do the same thing as a sideways gravity...

SiathLinux In reply to markopolio [2007-06-13 22:05:59 +0000 UTC]
Blender has a wind as well - which can be 'swirled' (there are other setting but can't remember what they are called....)

I still haven't had time to experiment with them... And I'm tired even now.

I seem to have less time (or maybe it's just taking me longer) to finish the projects that I have started.
