Description S.W.A.T. Fugitive Recovery Unit

1st look is to say that this is not finished (about 4 more days of stuff to do to it.) but it is finished enough to allow the rest of you to have a peek at it.

Made in Blender - YafRay rendering - no postwork.

I am just gonna stick with the good points here. My thoughts for the "you might fixs" are relevent only to exsisting Police and Armored Personnel Carriers that I have driven.

Love the large back deck, excellent idea! Great pivoting the doors upwards instead of out. though you might think of turning them into ramps for deployment by clamshelling them and the lower half swing down. Though, the whole swinging up allows for a grapnel/winch attachment that would be great...

I like the overall shape. Fits in with the more civilian applications a swat vehical has, as opposed to the common use of military APCs many feel will be the future of Special Weapons. Military vehicals are DOGs in city traffic, I think even hover ones would share that problem, this looks more like it was made for city use.

Do remember hand holds beside the doors, a flying vehical would need those for the crew to use entering or being ready to rapel or whatever.

Your doing good work here Obi-wan.....

OH! And LOTS of GUNS! Big HUUUGE Guns for mowing down large groups of unrully civies! And Missiles too! gotta have LOTS of missiles for flattening buildings filled with undesireables like the poor..... And maybe some gas canisters...

Well, this is ONLY a Fugitive Pursuit Unit - I've plans for other vehicles for SWAT that hover - one will be a BAU - Building Assault Unit - and one will be TAAU - Tactical Armour Assault Unit.

The BAU will have all types of grappler's and such to connect to the side of a building and take out a window to go into the building...

The TAAU will will be a heavy armoured vehicle (at least 2x as wide as the FPU - the TAAU will be slightly wider but huge) it will have heavy canons and heavy lasers turrets.

Ahhhh, Sounds ambitious and cool Mon Ami. I personally am looking forward to seeing the paint jobs for these puppies. Remember , in the future, there will likely be advertising EVERYWHERE! So a McDonalds Logo and such....

Won't be adverts on these as SWAT is a company that the police would call in when they couldn't handle the job themselves.

Its says advanced critique so ill go ahead an assume that means ya want some good honest advice.

Ok so far not a bad start but Id deffinatly look at increasing the detail in the seats round off the edges on the seats a little to make them more comforting.

Im not 100% sure on blender as I dont use it much other than to convert files but have a look if it has something like 3D max's smoothing groups. If it does go around your body and give areas there own smoothing groups places like the wheel arches that'll smooth them but keep the edges sharp and crisp so they stand out from the main body.

Also not sure if you considered this but think about things like bars over the windows its common for S.W.A.T or Riot vans to have these fitted.

As it is though it looks neat and your gravity idea gimmie some inspiration for a modded version of my truck

oh some real thoughts

I don't know how to get Blender to only smooth a 'art' of the mesh yet (so many settings...) I actually don't think I've done any smoothing on the body yet.
The seats do need more done to them... I might actually swap them for some that I had made for another scene.

I like the bars on the windows idea.

Thank you

Finished the base of the dash, the front light bar base (including red and blue lenses reflector inside and lighting), added some 'iping' underneath, will add more in a bit (doing a test render to see the lighting on the light bar)

Thank you - lot of work left to do, trying to finish by the weekend in order to get it to Mark ( *markopolio in order that he can convert it for DAZ|Studios/Poser usage and we can put it up for sale on the DAZ|Studios site and maybe Renderosity.
