Description I just felt like doing a colour pencil drawing, so I took a sheet of paper, my box of pencils, and started drawing this portrait of Morholt. It's as simple as can be, and I didn't do any studies at all - but boy, it was fun that way.

This is Canson textured paper for pastels; the colour pencils are mostly Caran d'Ache Pablo, with some odds and ends thrown in.

This took me ... hours. Oh, colour pencils.

Also, the real thing is nicer than the scan.

Β Very beautifully drawn, although I suspect that he's not one-tenth as pretty as your Isolde would be!Β

Β I must say once again that I would employ you to illustrate the works of Rosemary Sutcliff in a heartbeat, since I think your art would merge wonderfully with her prose and the frequently-celtic protagonists she developed so beautifully.Β

Thank you very much!

Do I draw pretty women, then? I know I try, but I sometimes suspect my men are prettier .

Β I have to admit that I'm not the best man to ask such a question of for when a good-looking lady (such as yourself!) enters my line of sight, I'm afraid my attention is quite unable to focus on anything else.Β

No, no - I'm not particularly attached to either Marc or Tristan, but I certainly have a soft spot for Morholt. Partly because he is Irish . And he has adventures with Gawain!
