Description
Edit: Okay, fixed.. uh.. a lot of things, most notably the shading all over his face, the size of his head, and the position of his shoulders. Major props to dear =Tanqexe for the wonderful help.. and everyone else, too. This was/is being done on commission for this fellow , who basically just asked for a portrait in any style I wanted. It's not totally done yet, but I wanted to put it up here to get some feedback on it, as, like I said, I've been staring at it for the last two weeks straight and I am not good at portraits anyway. : p
Any and all thoughts, good or bad, are more than appreciated.

All of this seems really solid, looks like you've been through a lot of critique with it as well XD I love the position of his arm and hand, the intense look to his eyes and face are complimented really nicely by the high contrast and the blue color scheme. I love all the dips and values in his skin, especially that small highlight on the left side of his forehead. The way the shadows work on his face are terrific. My suggestion for this image would be to sharpen off the tree branches in the background, especially the smalll ones. They seem a bit too round for the angular mood of the picture.

well at first i love the whole dark background and the way youve drawn it! The clouds are great and give a really spooky atmoshere! And yes although i dint like the guy in the photo he looks awesome in your version! His hair are great and he has a very cold and dark look. I thought he was a vampire at first. REally nice Job, epecially if you are not good at portraits!

You've captured the mood excellently here. Deep shadows across the face and body, the background is in darkness. It has a mysterious feel.
I'm a sucker for blue, portrait work not your strong point? Lies I tell you, lies.

the picture already looks so good... modifying it more may risk changing it entirely. I think the contrast is perfect. and he ambience stark and convoluted. Nicely done!!!!!!

Very nice work on the lighting and mood setting, it has a great feel to it. The hand needs some more character to it, if u don't mind the cc.

Wow. This is excellent. The expression he has is awesome, as is the background. I also love the blue hue to it, it gives it that creepy atmosphere you have going on. Awesome and very well done.

Finally .. you create a character that I can actually say with quite ease that it is INDEED a male!
And, you know what I'm going to say about your work -- the usual: nice detail and nice hair.
Another perty one to add to your gallery.

I'm not certain if this is what you were going for in his expression, but.... he looks like an evil villian from a movie.
It's pretty cool though...

the shoulder on the left of the picture is drooped slightly more than the left so it looks like he has gone slightly limp.

The only thing I'd work on is his jawline- I think it needs to be more angled... like, erm, this: \___/
[took a look at his "portfolio"].
*blinks* Portraits are hard. *shudders in sympathy*
It looks AWESOME. I love the feather. And the moon. And the lighting. [I could go on!]
I can't wait to see it once you've finished. *grins*
