Description
'In western lands beneath the Sunthe flowers may rise in Spring,
the trees may bud, the waters run,
the merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night
and swaying beeches bear
the Elven-stars as jewels white
amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
in darkness buried deep,
beyond all towers strong and high,
beyond all mountains steep,
above all shadows rides the Sun
and Stars forever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
nor bid the Stars farewell.'
/J.R.R. Tolkien/

Again a great tit, Parus major, and maybe maple leaves. Done with coloured pencils on gray paper.
Critics please!

Nagyon széek a levelek színei! Gratulálok. És külön tetszik a lágysága a ké
nek, amit az éles körvonalak elhagyása miatt van.

I agree with the comment about the bird looking optimistic. It makes me yearn for fall again. I love maple leaves, and although I live in Canada, I am not fortunate to live in an area where maples grow well and love them so much. I loved your picture.

Thank you, and I'm glad you like it! I love colored leaves too, but I live in a plain, here aren't maples, only in parks.

LOL... funny how we long to have what we don't have sometimes. I love the ocean, too... but live nowhere near it. It's about a two day drive for me. I live closer to mountains than anything. I can't say that plains appeal to me, particularly, although I have lots of relatives in Saskatchewan, I should learn to love them! LOL

I love plains, this is where I grew up, and I love silent rivers and backwaters and fields and forests... and hills, but they don't mean so much to me.

I love where I live too... hills, trees, mountains (in the distance), but I don't like the cold and snow all the time. I love the fact that we have very distinct seasons here. I'm in Northern BC. Whereabouts are you?... if you don't mind my asking.

I live in Hungary, I think this is the best latitude. The summer is pleasant (30-35 Celsius), you don't have to die from heat, and in winter you can skate and sledge...

Sounds nice. I have a couple friends that lived in Hungary for a few years, but I didn't really hear a lot about it, except the negative (they weren't happily married).
30-35 is still a bit warm for my liking. I like it around 20-25 Celsius, ideally. Our summer here is usually fairly nice. In the winter time, I'm quite happy when it stays above -15 C (preferably with no wind!). We get lots of sunshine, no matter what time of year... but TODAY is awful. It is rather blizzary and a little chillier than it's been all week. I'm being a wimp!

It could be great. I would like to go there one day.
Today is awful here too. It's fog and something rains, it isn't really cold, about +5-6 C, but everything is wet...

Wet... not my favourite condition! LOL.
So... just curious, have you been an artsy person from childhood, or did you take up art later? My mom kept some of my doodles and cut outs from when I was three, and I even still remember doing some of them!
What is your favourite medium? I have really taken to acrylic (on anything) lately. It's so much easier to clean up than oils, but I really haven't had any experience with oils. I mainly sketch, take photos and paint.

Well, I don't know, I have seen some of my childhood drawings and they are not too bad. I just remember that when in the kindergarten everybody was drawing Christmas tree or snowman or eastern rabbit, I was drawing horses, horses and dogs.
I cannot work with acrylic or oil, I didn't tried painting since years, my favourite is 5B pencil and coloured pencils.(They smell so good...)

The colour really adds to the drawing. I'd only say that the sky might look better if you used a CP blender to smooth it out a bit.

Thank you for the comment! The paper was very rough, and I was in hurry so I couldn't do too smooth textures. I know it's the fault of my laziness...

I like how you've used colours to make the shadowing, and I think the title suits the picture well. That bird sure looks optimistic
