Description
Done for the Michael Kutsche (among other things, character designer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland) contest on the Chiustream. Prompt was: redesign the Caterpillar.Wasn't actually planing on entering the contest. Then yesterday when i was in school, during a particularly boring class I started doodling on it without any expectations; kinda liked how it looked, so today during another boring lecture I started to detail it. Then when I got home I added the color job aaaaaand here we are.
Guys if you ever need to be inspired go and listen to one of Bobby Cius' Livestreams! The man's a genius, when I'm listening to him I draw things I never ever would have thought I would or for that matter COULD ever draw. It's pretty amazing.
I'm still trying out that children's book illustration style

To tell the truth - I think he is really charming and pretty. I would probably shift the whole picture a little , since the left side is falling thanks to the angle of the square-like BG and composition of the mushrooms.
But I am a deep fan of Caterpillar in AiW. Thats why it definitely won in my tastes.

I see what you're saying, but I thought that because the big mushroom was so heavy and... well, big, on the right side I'd give it more space on the left
