Description I've always wanted to draw Maeve, that crazy "silicon creature" from the manga Blame!, and her red RED hair and lazy eye.
Today I did, so I can cross that off my list.

You can find it on a few different online reading manga sites, it's out of physical print. If you like goth futuristic gunfights against evil scary cyborgs, then you'd like it. If not, then maybe not

if you mean her eyes, they're meant to be. one of her eyes always looks to the side, it's stuck that way.

She's delightful Great job with the hair; it seems to glow against all of the grays and blacks.

That's pretty much how it is the the manga, too. A grey, grey future world, and her fire-engine-red hair stands out.

wait there was actually color in that thing somewhere...

Yes, actually the author did several color pages per volume, but the English-reprinting put them in black and white to save money on printing costs

One of the reasons I've switched to "illegal" reading of manga online...

so you can get the original quality. nice. perhaps theres some donation jar somewhere for the artist.

I did buy the whole series in print a few years ago. That was before it popped up online. So I did support the artist. heh. But I'm downlodnig the online copies too cause of how terrible the English translated version way. the translation was fine, but they skipped pages, got rid of color pages, and made everything a muddy grey.

Now here's the strange thing... because not many copies of the English version were printed or sold, ever since going out of print, the value has skyrocketed. They were $10 a piece, now they sell for $100. You would think the original Japanese, or even the German version which had the color pages and clear printing, would be the valuable ones.

On the upside, my manga buying was actually profitable for once.

if you were to actual sell those copies of blame. though I definately cant't fault collectors of comic books. I just spent a 108$ on getting 3 popple stuffed animals.

I drew it in OpenCanvas1.1 with a tablet, and added some effects (mainly the "smoke" in the background, and the shiny parts with dodge and overlay) and textures in PaintShopPro7.

cool, well i use Indian ink myself, but I have been curious about adding colors by computer. Maybe I will give it a go in the future!

Keep up the good work!
