Description Hooray, finally finished!
The first fully painted digital piece I've done /I have some like this but not finished/.  Started it somewhere around the end of January and then it had a slightly different idea...
Ridiculous story ahead!
I had  an olimpiada in Biology because I really have an interest in that subject, more specifically animal biology, but the test however was going to be on human anatomy...or so I thought. I got to my school which was empty because it was Saturday and went straight to the biology classroom because the only noises I was hearing were from there. There were several students and two women and I asked them if the olimpiada is being held here. They answered positively and then I sat down and immediately started rereading the material because I doubted I had studied enough. I didn't even bother looking at the rest of the students because I knew nobody of my class was coming. The olimpiada started and they asked for my name to write it down on some paper /there wasn't obviously a list/. I went through the instructions page really quick and turned over the page and what do I see there? Plants, Fungi, Monera... Things I hadn't studied for more than two years. At first I panicked but then I started answering the questions with my faded knowledge... Was the last one who finished but I was really pleased. Then it came the real nightmare. It resulted I had attended a 7th grade olimpiada instead of an 8th grade! How more absent-minded could I be? My teacher was shocked at this, apparently she hadn't seen someone like me. XD I was really sad and disappointed at first because all my hard work had been for nothing but after some time I started getting over it and looking it on the positive side - I remembered how much interesting plants and mushrooms were and it had been great reading about them again after having studied nothing but Spanish the last year.
So my intention was to put a human figure here, touching the water but then I cleared it  because I suck at drawing humans. Instead I put a cute little squirrel basking in the sun, contemplating the lushness of the forest. It's quite messy but I'm really glad I finally finished it. And now I just  wanna lay on that grass and relax...

I hope you like it! ^^
Done in Paint Tool SAI and a little bit of Photoshop

Kavayan-Design is right, some more color range would be nice, but your grasp on the lighting and how it falls in the forest is wonderful. My main critiques, and this is hard to do in digital work, is to blend some of your individual pieces better with their surroundings. The mushrooms off the bottom of the tree seem rather detached due to a lack of shadows. There's a similar issue with your squirrel where it just looks like it's floating when you enlarge the photo. And then towards the left between the rocks and the grass there is a similar instance although the rest of your rocks all blend very nicely with their surroundings.

This piece is by far a testament to your patience. I have next to no patience for the repetitive motions of grass drawing.

Lol, grass. At the end I just gave up. XD To be honest I haven't really looked into pictures of wild mushrooms /besides those which I eat/ and I was not really sure how to shade them. So they look like stickers. But I learned how important is to keep consistency and also have a good sketch. I realized that when I have built lines to follow it comes out so much better. The squirrel had those lines, the tree didn't, so that's why it looks like it's levitating.

Don't get me wrong its great, but using some nice dark greens, browns and oranges would make it explode Good work.
