[edit] Well. So. In all fairness, having watched most of the cut-scenes with Vexen now, I shall admit it's not as bad as I first feared. The rubber-face is still... odd, and half the time his voice is horrid, but when pissed enough he sounds quite alright... And his 3D rendered self is downright gorgeous. Oh, so gorgeous...

That's supposed to be Nomura, there. And a random panel of Square-Enix decision-makers. And all the newly 3D-rendered CoM characters. Oh, and all my heartfelt cynicism and bitterness.

Inspired, of course, by the trailer for KHIIFM & Re:CoM ... Which was very, very pretty indeed. All sparkly and shiny and the voices kicked ass and... ... wtf?

Right. But I'm not bitter. X3
This is therapy. I still hope Vexen will get to have more dignity in the actual game, because man... what we saw in the trailer was not the Vexen I've grown to cherish and love.
I'm going through a lot of trouble to import your game and give you my money, Square - don't disappoint me now. Hell hath no fury like a fangirl scorned. u.u

Well, he did get the short end of the stick in the CoM remake! In the original game he was all cool and aloof, and then in the remake they went for the rubber-face mad scientist trope. A pity. Still sexy, though. u.u

When playing the original Chain of Memories, I always thought Vexen was an old lady... but not in a bad way. And when I found out he's a man, I thought "okay, a good-looking character who has a thing for science and appears at least slightly effeminate but still is neither young and bishi nor otherwise a typical beauty"... still unusual. The extremely limited characterisations on the GBA managed to gave everyone at least some unique traits and tendencies without sticking to clichΓ©s. Vexen, while also being a scientist, mainly seemed to be the old person who demanded respect (understandable!) and had class.
But... this? Argh, though I must admit that his English VA is even more annoying to me than his Japanese.

Agree on all points! Except for the VA - I actually really dig his English voice, it works for me. Marluxia's English voice sucks, though, the Japanese was way better.

*falls out of chair laughing* that's awesome, I love your drawing style...and that does pretty much accurately describe what they did to Vexen in our English version O_O but you're right, the 3D version of him looks a lot better than the little sprite-things in the original CoM, even besides the voice and rubber-face....and even though he's not my ultimate favorite in the Organization, he's a pretty cool guy anyway (no pun intended) XD and actually, I didn't mind the voice or rubber-face very much either, he's still one of the smartest guys in the Org and honestly he could have just cloned himself and not actually died...*is hoping that the whole Org XIII will eventually come back* ^^
....aaaand I'm ranting X3

I just got the game last week.. I'm still with Sora and I'm at the first battle with Vexen..He's so hard!

Man, if I can't beat Vexen the first time, I think of how hard Marluxia will be...or Ansem on Riku's side! D: Oh well, it's fun listening to the voices so I'm not entirely frustrated. XD
