Description
I'm working on a story in my head. I'm not sure how far it's going to go, but this would be the character design for the main character. Her name is Cheis (pronounced like the boy's name Chase). Some parts about this I really like, others I don't. It was the first thing I inked with my Copic Multiliners that has turned out passable. I guess that means I'm getting better with traditional mediums. I colored it in Photoshop because the Copic marker set I ordered from the local comic shop hasn't arrived yet. When I get it, I'll probably color it traditionally as well.
I drew the front and back views on two separate pieces of paper and pieced them together in Photoshop. Drawing it was difficult, because I wanted it to look like you were viewing her from the opposite angle facing backwards... There are some mistakes, but it was my first time drawing something like that, so I guess I'm happy with it.

Can't explain why she reminds me of a medieval version of Eliza from Gargoyles, maybe the pose. Nice design overall though, quite like the colours.

Maybe it's the skin and sort of the color of her hair? Thanks for the comment!

Drawn on two separate pieces of paper....Cause you drew one pose and then traced it backward to get mirror image for the other pose? 'Cause they do look that similar...
Anyways, love the design, and love the outfit. Very tavern-wench-ish. But still kinda classy...

No, tracing wouldn't give the effect of an opposite backwards angle. The curves of the front of a body and the ones of the back of a body are oftentimes complete opposites. I used image references from posemaniacs.com. You can fullsize an image and then drag it to turn the image around. It's great for things like this.
And thanks! I've been thinking of the design for a little bit and waiting until a good character idea came along. I think it'll fit her personality pretty well. I'll start working on the design for the male soon.
