I love the way you color ^^ Your color mix so well together, you give deph when needed and you keep them flat in place we don't need to focus on. It work effectively to the eyes toward the head.
I love also how the foreground of the setting is blue and it slowy become purple the further it become from us. It create a quiet and enduiring atmosphere.
I think it is a shame the light blue you used to highlight the character isn't present in the setting but it may divert the attention away too much.

i was really torn on adding the blue lightening in the bg or not haha

You're welcome ^^ And I see you have already edited it. I think it indeed works better, It add detail to the background and let the viewer understand more easily the different layer of vegetation. As the blue is a weaker version of the blue, you used for the character it also feels like the piece is a whole and not a character put on some random background.
I personally prefer it that way but I can understand why you were torn about adding it or not.
If I may nick pick, however, the third vertical line, the one closer to the moon ma be a little too strong. I thing removing it or making it more transparent, like an atmospheric perspective, would be best ^^.
