Old comment but I experienced a horrible deed right before my eyes. The answer to your question is assholes who don't care! A bully of mine LITERALLY stepped on a bee I was trying to move to make me cry! Then I was told by terrible school staff that bees don't have feelings and I was crying over nothing.
Well excuse me but the environment is dying around us and I was only trying to save the bee population! I was crying because I care about the environment!

I didn't know bees can make hives in the ground until 5th grade, my teacher stepped on a bee's nest, thingy, and 3 of us got stung in places we should never get a bee sting, I got one in the neck.

Reminds me of elementary school. Honey bees would go around, doing their thing, not bothering anybody, then some jerks'll go "EW A BEE" and squish 'em. ;-;

If they are going to hurt you.
But mainly bees.
If I know a Bee wants to stink me.
I'm going to squish it dead SO HARD

Bees rarely sting you unless you give them the incentive. Ive used bee's a lot in my photography (meaning Im less than a couple of inches away from them) and the only time Ive ever been stung was when I was a child, trying to catch one and put them in a tiny plastic box.
Its not exactly easy to predict the future and say "oh that bee is going t o sting me"

If a bee is following you around, and you move too quick, they could see you as an attacker and in turn try to sting you.
You get up close to them, but I bet you aren't moving a lot. You're being still, so they won't be threatened. If you moved quick, it'd either scare the bee away, or ruin the shot.
With average people, who are just walking around in places nearby bees, it's not hard to get stung.

The bees at my school must be kind then haha. They just float around everyone, and even when theyre being chased by idiots waving bags at them trying to squish them, they dont sting anyone xD

xD! That's crazy! Maybe it's the species of bee; Different bee species are less aggressive than others.
The bees we have around here are WAY aggressive, and if you even step near a flower they are on, they'll fly up and sting you! D:

If you don't see the bee, and you step on it, it'll try to sting you afterward.
Bees are rather small, so it's easy to understand how someone could NOT see one.
Also, different people have a different scent, and some people's smell will irritate certain animals, or insects. I have a friend who used to pick up bees in her back yard and play with them, hold them in her hands and such. But she gets stung by wasps without bothering or stimulating them at all.
Personally, I don't attract bees, but I attract fire ants worse than anyone I know.
So, some people can't prevent themselves from being stung. -Shrugs-

I wouldn't kill one JUST because it has the ability to sting. That would be mean, although it is understandable. But bees aren't people. They're not even animals. They're insects. It isn't the same.
I usually won't kill them, I usually either leave them alone or I run away if they get close, but if I knew one had been agitated and was ready to sting, and I couldn't get away from it, I'd have no problem with squishing it.

In fact, I haven't killed a bee in.. Years.
Mostly because I'm so afraid of bees/wasps. But, really, I have a hard time killing ANY bug. I wish I could; I would be able to kill spiders without making my dad, grandpa, etc. do it for me. But, anyhow. xD

It's not that I don't think I have the right; I DO have the right. If a person is trespassing on your property, or in your house, you technically have the right to kill them. I couldn't do it, but I have the right.
I just couldn't kill a bug (aside from mosquitoes or flies, but I can't kill any of them with my bare hand) because I don't like the feeling. Especially with things like beetles, where you feel the crunch of their exoskeleton. Makes me shudder. ):

i think that law is in america... and i live in europe, poland, we can only kill somebody [oh, how that sounds...] if we are defending our life.
and btw- i think that law couldn't be used to insects- i think that WE are trespassing THEY house.

In America, if someone gets into your house, they are usually trying to rob you or kill you.
That's true for SOME insects, but not all. A lot of insects, as well as rodents and birds, they did NOT live here first. They got imported by early explorers. There's a bird here, called the American Robin, but it wasn't native to this country; It came from Europe, and the explorers brought them here by accident!
It's the same thing with most of the insects. They came here AFTER the first people got here, with the people who came here later, and so technically THEY would still be trespassing in OUR house. (:
