As always, a true story. Not one of my most mature moments. I thank my friend Liz for putting up with my silliness. Our local FYE was closing so we bought a ton of pocky.
Someone at con tried to sell me the EXACT SAME C. Viper action figure, on the basis that I was dressed as Madam Red, and Viper has red hair, and therefore I would like her. Yeah...no thanks.
More street fighter characters!! Could Cammy or Chun-Li be my leading lady? How knows! But how lovely they both are!
Yes, Guile was the character I mentioned was in Panty and Stocking. If you want to see him for his 3 seconds of glory with some other dude in a truck you can watch the D-City Rock music video. [link] It's PSG, so viewer discretion advised. Not safe for work. Guile's bit is at 2:37, Or you can be awesome and watch the whole video, it's what got me hooked on PSG! (Except at the time when I first saw it, I didn't know who Guile was lol...A couple of people have speculated that the other guy in the truck with him may be Abel...but I don't think so.)
Hooray for me changing my clothes for once.
And check out that really well-drawn BOX! It's so good, I had to label it for you guys so you could notice how great a box it is. Just like that doorway in page 2. I still have yet to find a hard copy of Bad Romance the Remix album!!!

I wouldn't say I hate her...yeah kind of, I just really dislike pretty much all aspects of her character and design.

I don't believe there was a Makoto figure. Sadly, a search of google shopping for "Street Fighter Makoto figure" turns up absolutely nothing. rather sad.

One custom figure and a "bust" figure is all I could find.

Seems like she doesn't get much love from Capcom.

How sad. Sad on Capcom's part for not acknowleding her, and sad that people leave such comments. What a boorish idiot...there are parts of the SF fandom that really respect the cast of SF women, and then unfortuntely there will others who are simply there for the buxom curves.
I can recall a 'conversation' here on dA between particular user, (I won't mention names in case they're um...close by). On a picture of Makoto beating Chun-Li, this particular person declared that Makoto was not a woman. Of course there is the constant joke of Makoto being mistaken for a boy, but the way he worded his comment made it come off, at least to me, as very offensive. (Perhaps I was over-sensitive). I responded saying that just because Makoto isn't some buxom, long locked, curvaceous vixen, didn't make her any less of a 'woman.' It resulted in them going off on this tirade about how Makoto's ultra is dirty and inspires fetishists because she hits people in the crotch and how I was somehow enamored with her. I was a little bit dumbfounded...poor girl nees more love.

Maybe it's the same guy from deviantart? Some want to turn all the SF girls into DOA girls. At least some people tried to defend her.
Seems more like someone was butthurt about an "original" SF2 character being beaten. Do they honestly think Makoto inspires more of a fetish than the other female SF characters?
One of the reasons I like her character is her strong agressive fighting style. Not depending on flame/electric/fireball moves. My favorite match on EVO was Haitani 's Makoto:

I don't find Sakura or Ibuki all that attractive or interesting at all...they're not bad characters, they're just very generic.
Some people defended her, but there were many more nasty comments as well. What a shame.
Oh Chun's thighs, Juri's hair, EVERYONE's feet...I don't see what makes Makoto worse.
Haitani made it to the quarter finals though! That match with HumanBomb was great.

Those type of fetish things probably exist for any popular franchise. Juri seems to have become the SF girl most "famous" for it.

Still. A Makoto in the final would have been great. To be honest. The finals were a little dissappointing to me. Wanted more close matches.

You know, I have a collection of Chun-Li collectables, and I can rarely find one that's $10. I don't like this SFIV figure though, what's wrong with her face?

No...her face didn't look like that. I tried to make her look serious and she just looked boring, kind of like Cammy. (I should have made Cammy look happier too.) It was maybe more like, 12.99 I don't exactly remember the price, but I do remember the Viper figures being on sale for like, nothing.

Yeah, I do love the detail they put into her clothes. That's one thing I always loved about Chun-li was her attires.
They look so complicated and beautiful. ^^

I didn't buy the Chun figure, and this was quite awhile ago, so I don't remember what the brand was, but I can assure you that our little games/movies/music store was not carrying anything close to SOTA quality stuff!

Hmm, there's so many Chun-li figures, it could be any of them. Personally though, I find the Capcom vs SNK 2 EO Chun-li figure to be one of the best.
They put alot of detail into the character, from the eye shadow to the little dragons on her belt.

I like C. Viper. You dont see a lot of milf characters in fighting games...at all. Girls usually get shelved after they get to 25 or something like that so its nice to have some decent well aged anti-heroines in the sea of stereotypical sexually submissive provacative "girly girl" types. *tempted to go into a tangent in defense of C.Viper but decides to just let it go*

Ah... you know, that reminds me when the only music store in my part of town closed down. As in, the ONLY music store. Since then, if I want to buy an original CD I have to travel to the other side of town by bus or taxi to get one. Last time I did that was my birthday last year, when I got the limited edition of Amon Amarth's latest album.

I think that's probably the reason Chun isn't getting as many votes, although both Ryu and Ken got a huge surge in votes recently, and both are all but guaranteed to be in the game, too.

Really? Have you been following my Street Fighter comic? Actually, it's really only been an SF comic for some odd 7 pages, it's just been a silly crossover starring me before all that. Err...I would say that our leading ladies/our muses are at odds.

Well, Ryu's a given for TK x SF, of course. He's in the poster and everything, and he's the male lead. There's no way they won't include him. And I think Namco already showed renders of Ken and Chun, too.

Well, if you go back to the beginning to the comic, since you're a Street Fighter fan, you'll probably understand where things are going, as opposed to some of my watchers who don't know SF and have been enjoying a bit of a guessing game with this comic. This whole comic is about how I discovered the SF fandom, and some...other things.

You actually found Street Fighter action figures like that? I'm surprised that you were able to find so many in an area. Everything that I've seen from deviantArt is of these pristine models that were a bitch to find. And they'd cost about a finger too, rivaling an elderly woman's blue crystal bird.
I guess part of the reason why C.Viper was so popular was because she was graced by Seth K. The other 99% of the reason... well, sex sells.
