9" x 12" pencil on paper. Last winter, the San Diego Zoo's Conservation/Education Department commissioned me to paint a background for their "How Green Can You Go" campaign. They said I could use any animals I wanted, but recommended I use frogs. That's all I needed to go from since I love drawing and painting frogs! This image shows my quick sketch for the layout along with a couple of more detailed sketches for two of the frogs. I like to sketch with a 2H pencil.Related content

Ok since everyone else commented on the final version, I'll be the first here....1. i always love to see what artists start with including my own stuff cuz i enjoy seeing progression as the art comes to life.
2. Digital painting is still something i have to practice on so it is always fascinating to see what someone who knows just what they are doin. Another artist here on DA i like for the same reason is Zat.
3. this is more a suggestion than a comment but it would be really great if you made a story out of these frogs. they are always present in Good literature so im sure you could think of a great angle. Anyways i really liked this step by step process. Hope you put out more.

a suggestion if i may, i think this concept in particular might work really well in comic strip format. In this way you could update the strip weekly and it wouldnt interfere with the incredible workload already on your plate. If you did some ahead of schedule, say 5-6 strips, that would also help out in case anything comes up. Again just a suggestion i thought would satisfy both the audience and yourself alike.
