Collab with ~leigh-thebault and ~sir-charlesI did the spacescape while he provided the terregen render and painted, yes painted the ship and the buildings to the right. This would be my first terraspace collab and I'm quite pleased with it. I was glad to work with such a talented artist.
Comment and fav then go give him a watch, hes got some great art.

Majestic. It probably suits hundreds of works, but for me this perfectly suits Iain Banks' The Algebraist - departing a picturesque home and heading out towards the giants that dominate the sky...
my only crit would be that the ship looks a little odd in it's scale/depth - it seems to be big and close, but it's behind the stars... personally, I'd make it smaller (but still in front of the stars) to complement the awesome scale and serenity of the piece. but that's just because I like serenity.

Thanks, I didn't make the ship, leigh did however it was removed on his version cause everyone felt it was out of place. All I did was the space work

yeh, I saw the other version - actually I prefer it with the ship, it just needed to be integrated a bit more sensitively (but hey, when you're cranking it out in thirteen hours, I can imagine you didn't have much spare time to tweak...). The vertical lines in the other version seem too sharp and graphic to me. just my 2 cents...

This picture is in doubt filled with beauty and awe, especially the colors in this picture. More than that, this picture has practically everything, from the stars in the sky to the skyscrapers of a distant city. This must have been a great collaborative effort.

Great coop (technically), but I wonder why nobody seems to notice, that the whole "Icarus"-thing depends on the spaceship?! Actually, the DD went to the "Icarus" without Icarus, which is strange in a way... ...guess this is one good example for a judgement based on form rather, than on meaning.
However, keep it up!

Yeah, I read it there and immediately wondered: Either this was one of these "planet things", randomly titled after one of the available titans, heroes, scifi-movies - or the crucial (title) element was missing. To me, removing the spaceship feels like removing the references and implications - the story - of the pic, and it's strange that this happened out of rather commonplace "aesthetic" motivations. But maybe I'm just picky today...
Gotta fave the real one instead, just to be different...

im not so much into planet pieces, but this one's very nice! ir eally love the reddish look of the universe, instead of dark blue like you see everydays... the cliffs are also a very nice touch, but i personnally think the starship is not a good thing in it.. i just love the natural look it has, i found pretty disapointing to see again human's creations in it... you know? its so rare to see REAL nature, without a thing done by a human or something... but that's just my opinion! i love it anyway ^^
