I love the mood of this shot. Reminds me of younger days and adventures. The thrill of striking out into the unknown and sometimes scary. Wonderful!

I don't know what touched me about this picture, but I just love how the road has light coming down on it and the surrounding forest and trees are dark and hidden. Very beautiful and mysterious. Amazing!

I've been to places like these, but never had my camera with me, and even if I did, I doubt that I'd be capable of taking such a shot.

How you managed to extract such an eerie scene from a Columbia Gorge road is beyond me, but it's wonderful.

Amazing how the road and the light catch the eye and force it to look at the bright end of the road. I really like your work.

Love the photo but bought the print, not very happy with how it came out though, far too dark compared to screen.

I'm sorry to hear that -- it's always a crapshoot with print items on how well they'll turn out (and anything on paper is ridiculously darker than screen anyway just on account of which way the light is going). This probably doesn't help you, but I'm uploading a slightly lightened version for the print as I type this.

Disturbing and- oddly- soothing- at the same time. I want to drive down this road; I'm not anxious to take a glance into the woods...
