At first sight the painting looks black and white but in reality it isn't. If I may ask, how do you achieve that effect? (I mean when and how to add colours?)

Thank you Karalia! That effect is called chromatic aberration. You can achieve it though moving the individual RGB channels of an image Independently from each other
