What is the different between bΓ€ckahΓ€sten and kelpie?

Hi Stormfeuer.
For as far as i know the kelpie is the celtic waterhorse, and the bΓ€ckahΓ€sten is the scandinavian one.
They are both supposed to lure people into the water and to cause their death.
The bΓ€ckahΓ€sten ( the white brook horse) is said to be white and the kelpie is mostly referred to as a black pony. Though there are some stories where white kelpies are mentioned.
There are many different waterhorses that are similar to the kelpie.
I also found out there is a weird story about a kelpie that happened in my surroundings. This kelpie lives on the shores of the sea. If you are interested i will try to find it again to translate it for you. It's a dutch saga.
