Sonic is the faster. Rainbow can fly at mach 5. Sonic has ran at mach 10. Rainbow uses Sonic Rainboom speed mach 50. Sonic use light speed attack speed about mach 881023. that is the stats. nice picture by the way

I like Rainbow Dash, but in my proffesional opinion, Sonic could beat her by a long shot. I mean come on, he's capable of breaking the sound barrier within a few seconds.

For my taste, Sonic is better... at least he's not a pretentious wannabe as Dash... he just know is the fastest thing alive and doesn't need to say lame quotes like "20% cooler". And of course, Robotnik is better villain than the villains of MLP (I mean the characters of Sonic SATam, which was the best version of Sonic)

Sonic's physic defiance will proceeded him to win.Sonic has the leisure to break that speed barrier whenever he pleases.rainbow dash's speed is as natural to sonic,but then again she is a Pegasus wings are alot more work than feet,therefore to speed up to sonic's ease she would have to use up her energy just to keep ahead,but suffer from being tired.

Another thing is that sonic can pass the light barrier and time barrier (as shown in sonic CD the hedgehog), in the videogames, with multiple attacks, and with he does the boost his speed increases by 35.000.000 mph.

Firstly, he's not just the fastest thing alive on his planet, he's the fastest thing alive in the universe! Secondly, Super Sonic has an unlimited top speed and can fly faster than the speed of light, THE SPEED OF LIGHT! Can RD do that? I THINK NOT!

Rainbow Dash would need to follow Einstein's rule of light speed. She'd have to have either Infinite energy or no mass. She can't go light speed, Sonic, with the chaos emeralds can because they do give him infinite energy and he produces his own light.
