“That was unnecessary,” Ellire hisses to Adan, dropping the rope and arrow to the floor and leaning up against the ship’s railing, beginning to squeeze some of the seawater out of her hair with narrowed eyes.

“No, what you did to my ship, that was unnecessary," Adan snaps with a gesture at his damaged sails. He strides over to her angrily, fire in his eyes. "The Rutha Tel'Ear(1) is mine, Sia Sjach(2)," he repeats, leaning slightly toward her, "And my crew is my family. Perhaps if you had given it time, I would have eventually made you co-captain. However, now I feel forced into it and I'm not sure how much I like having my hand forced when it comes to my ship.” The emphasis that he puts on the last two words make it clear that he has no intention of handing over his ship or his crew. “Especially,” he continues, eyes still angry but mouth turned slightly upward, “by a wharacir(3)” - he leans closer to her - “vhisir(4)” - closer - “bitch.” His face is now inches from hers as he grins humorlessly at her.

This seems to amuse Ellire more than anything. She’s stopped wringing out her ponytail as Adan’s face comes dangerously close to her own and smiles back at him. “Admit it,” she sneers, not backing away an inch, so that they can feel one another’s breathing on their faces. “You LIKE it when I’m mean."
Adan’s smile fades slightly and he raises a skeptical eyebrow. “Oh yeah? And how do you figure that?"
Ellire lets out a soft huff. “You get all hot and bothered and…” Head still locked in place, the half-elf’s eyes shift downward as she says, much quieter now, “tonn vhira mobi(5).”
