I did this simple pic when reading through on some of the forums about all the people who talk about suicide.Suicide is childish and cowardly.

Ya know, Ive almost commited suicide, its not funny, I used to live with my uncle, it was REALLY bad, thats why I tried to kill myself, my mom couldnt get me back for a long time, I was lucky enough to have a friend catch me when I jumped, most people have a reason to kill themself, and its not goth, its apperently emo, but I'm emo, and such, most emos are happy joyful people (exept posers) thats all im say, I just hope you understand, that this is negitvie to say, specialy when people have this problem, and have killed themself because they had a reason. So yup, no need to comment back, this is all I have to say to you

you don't understand mental illness. Sure there are a lot of fakes, who whine for attention, but there are also a lot of people who are deadly serious, and who are genuinely mentally ill. People who shoot themselves in the head, for example, these people aren't childish or cowardly, they're people who are in serious pain, a pain that you obviously don't understand.But I agree about the whole "goth" culture, the whole thing is ridiculous and is the reason why people don't take depression and mental illness seriously. Suicide and depression is not just a thing for teenagers, anyone can be depressed, and many people who are depressed, will not even appear unhappy. Lots of people have killed themselves, leave their families completely perplexed, because they never showed any outward signs of depression. Depression is not about whining, wearing black and bitching on the internet. I think that to understand it you need to experience it, and once you have, then you'll understand why people commit suicide. Urgh, sorry for essay, lol.

The picture is funny, and has a point, but i have to disagree with your comment on suicide. It's hardly childish - if your child is suicidal, that's not normal.
It also isn't cowardly. It takes a strong will to go against your natural self-preservation instinct.
So, while i agree with your idea that killing yourself (or, more often, threatening to off yourself) over something small is ridiculous, I have to say that the way you talk about suicidal people is kind of closed-minded. If someone wants to die, it's not any business of strangers to judge or condemn them.
If someone close to you wants to die, you should try to help, not insult them

(no offense in all this) Have you ever been abused? Have you ever been abandoned by you're parents? Have you ever been beaten several.. no numerous times for being who you are? Have you ever been so rejected, so hated, so despised, where everyone would insult you, scream at you, beat you, say shit about you, drag you in dirt, laugh at you..etc? I'm sure you haven't since you do think suicide is cowardly and childish. Of course i do not encourage mutilation in anyway or suicide, but i don't ever give a living hell of why they do it, i only help them, not judge. For any reason you shouldn't judge even if they are wanna be's. Jesus haven't you learned in kindergarden to accept and love everyone as whom they are? Suicide is not a joke or a "stupid and pointless" thing, its considered by people who really can't take any more, if you would know how it feels then you wouldn't of said it was cowardly and childish. Yes i have been diagnosed with depression and attempted and failed to suicide 3 times but look im much better now, and i help each and everyone that come to me, never judging. Seriously, think before YOU judge on something that might of never been a personal matter to you and you're life. Thank you

To put in my two cents, I think everyone is stereotyping too much. Why do you dismiss a person as not worth your time if their personality is one which craves attention? I don't think I understand. And thankfully I don't ever delude myself into thinking I do. To claim to understand another person based on outward appearances or actions is rather...egotistical? Assuming, certainly. You're assuming you're self important enough to know what's happening in everybody's lives and how they should and shouldn't deal with it. A blanket solution. Without considering that what might have worked for you may not be as easy for everybody else.
But that is only one view in 6.6 billion and every one of those people is entitled to their own. I don't like when someone tells a person not to express their opinion because it doesn't fit with their own. It makes me sad when people attack other's views.
Though I do agree that the people left behind when someone commits suicide...they are hurt tremendously.

what you say is caricatural, it represents some persons' thought, but not the majority.
The'oh i'm gonna kill myself because he refuses me this or that' is completly stupid, but there's something else called depression which is the cause of the majority of suicides. Perhaps you don't know it, or you close your eyes on it, but if in a moment of your life you're deeply depressed, then nobody will help you if you've insulted them before.
But some feelings or thoughts can't be explained to blunt persons...

well...Im guessing this image is based at spoiled, angsty teenagers right? There are so many silly kids out there who do it for attention and to "fit in" to a certain image. The reason people do that for attention is because of the sympathy and love they get from it. They get a reaction like "omg dont do that i love you" and they may not get that often. but that still is no excuse to harm yourself.
On the other hand, this is a bit offensive to those who really have run thru tough parts of life. You have probably seen "depression" thru the angsty spoiled and attention-whoreing teenagers but for REAL sufferers it is nothing you have probably seen. Depression can sometimes cause hallucinations, you wouldnt be able to function in normal life. You know how the kids at school say they are depressed but they have and talk to friends, have a decent life and walk around. In real sufferers the will to walk is sometimes impossible to achieve. I have studied Psychiatry for years and i know alot about it. i can definatley tell when someone has a real problem and when they are lieing. Please understand that all people who are depressed are not at all like what your image is displaying. Suicide is a last resort and a heartbreaking one to choose when it is the only way out of a mental illness and a life you couldnt imagine.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

i'm not even going to say what i think of you yourself. it makes me physically sick to hear people minamize other's pain. i realize that some people do those things for attention, but thousands of us, myself included, actually feel the intense immobilizing depression that goes along with those actions. and just so you know, suicide is hard to do. you have to think of everyone around you and everyone it will effect. if it wasn't for that, i'd be dead already.

i just want to plainly and out rihgt disagree with anyone who has said that "Goths" are suicidal... they arnt, i should know, every single one of my friends including myself are stereotyped as "goth" because of what we wear, how we behave...
for those of you that explained the "fakers" or the "attention whores", those people are known as emo, but might i also add, emo's arnt suicidal or "fake suicidals" either, emo is a "fashion statement" they just seem to be at the short end of the stereotyping straw...
emo child, or emo kids are thos whinny little 13 yearolds that think they have life so tough and self harm for the attention...
now my opinion for this picture, all it needs is a little hair over one eye, the we could stereotye it as an emo kid...

Hmm, yeah im a morbid "goth" like u call it, and i find this pic hillarious. Its such a simple piece, and yet has managed to stir so much shit up. Thats what art is all about. If were going to analyse the person in this pic, then you could say they're being dramatic. If thats what it takes to want to kill themselves then their life is not worth preserving. So go for it. If anyone thinks i'm being cruel i'm not, because i know plenty of people who did, and do think about suicide or self-harm. and to me this picture doesnt really seem that serious, infact it's funny. and i agree with HildeKnight , because you guys shouldnt be putting the artist of this down, just because of what they think. personally i agree with all of you, there are two sides to suicide unfortunately, and because of those two sides, people don't really take the severity of the topic very truthfully anymore. Because of people who talk about it 24/7 as a trick to gain sympathy for themselves, others cannot really grasp the fact that there are people out there with serious amounts of bullshit on their plate. Aaah well. Society will never change.

I would like to comment on this deviation with a quotation from someone else when asked to explain how he managed to get through a pretty tough time in his life.
"I guess because everytime I thought of suicide, all I could think of was those who I'd hurt more by not being here (such as my grandmother, my brother, my mom, etc). Plus suicide is for faggy goth kids, and i'm not faggy, nor a goth. HOORAY"

I reckon that some people do it for real, whereas loads of people do it for attention. There were a rare few in my school, including me, who used to seriously think about suicide and self-harm themselves. Ive grown out of it, now everyone is doing it because they think its cool, and they want attention, now thats pathetic. I get so rageful when I see people just randomly doing it infront of everyone. And in that sense, it is childish and stupid. Soz, I just have a big opinion on this and I want people to know about it, coz its really annoying me.
