To me the Careener is a manifestation of someone’s fear of the past. This could mean a lot of different things. The person may have done something terrible that they are trying to keep a secret, yet are mentally suffering from the memory. It could also be representative of someone overly inhibited and afraid of the consequences of all their actions.

Either way, the Careener’s backwards glance seems to hint at a critical look to the metaphorical past, as the creature is forever staring backwards with a large bloodshot eye. The deadly weapons it holds may suggest that the person’s harbored secret has “teeth”, or is dangerous and possibly something they would kill or be killed for. In the alternative theory of inhibition, it may symbolize the inhibited person looking only at their past and using that alone to guide their future movements very carefully. In this case the weapons would symbolize the wariness they face the past with, or the subtle buried hatred they feel towards their own unwillingness to change.

All of the monster concepts I've viewed so far are amazing. I cant wait to see the others.
Were you at all inspired by Silent Hill? Body horror seems to be a theme.
