“I got the supplies Mitch, all you need is a saddle and some riding gear, there’s one in the back but it may be a little pricey.” Bo cautioned.
“If it’s a saddle I’ll take it, I’ve got about seventy dollars saved up.” Mitch headed towards the back and spotted the saddle resting over a sawhorse. It was made from dark leather and looked more expensive than his previous one; Mitch knew he also needed to buy saddle bags, a saddle blanket, and a bridle. He wasn’t sure how far his savings would stretch.
He rested a hand on the saddle as he tried to estimate how much it would cost when a deep voice startled him.
“Never expected to see you back here.”
Mitch turned and saw the burly form of Mr. Brown, a large-built tawny mouse with his sleeves rolled up showing beefy forearms. His girth could be seen on either side of his white clerk’s apron tied in a small bow behind him. His whiskers were fashioned into a short but bushy mustache, which he twitched as he looked down at him.
“Mr. Brown, sir.” Mitch took off his hat respectfully. “Yes, it has been a while.” He felt his insides squirming, this man was one of the main reasons he had been avoiding Redcliff.
“Almost a year it would seem.” Mr. Brown said gruffly and patted the saddle without moving his eyes from Mitch’s face. “What’s your business this side of town?”
“I need a new saddle, sir, my brother… was kidnapped. The boys and I are going after them. Er, could I get a price on that one?” he asked touching to dark saddle that Mr. Brown was leaning against.
“Hmm, I see, someone you love, taken away, but this time, you’re going after them.” Mr. Brown seemed to ignore the question of the price and Mitch seemed to wince at his words.
“Please, sir, you must understand, it’s not like that…” he tried to explain.
“Not like what, I suppose my daughter never meant that much to you otherwise you’d have gone after her as well.” Mr. Brown’s eye bored into him and Mitch’s ears flattened feeling old wounds start to reopen at the mention of Mr. Brown’s daughter.
“I…” Mitch backed up a little but his legs felt like stone. He didn’t know what to say, his heart started to pound and more guilt made his chest tighten. Luckily, Bo seemed to sense Mitch’s awkwardness and hurried over, smiling broadly.
“Mr. Brown! Fancy seeing you here! Well, of course, it is your store I suppose. We’re headin’ off on a little trail ridin’ and Mitch here’s lost his saddle in a fire, how much is that dandy looking one under your arm?”

This took a long time to draw! Had it as a sketch for several days, then penned it over two nights and colored it over another three.

At least Bo is a good friend to help him out.
