All was going smoothly for Parallax until it discovered that one of the rings acquired was, at the time of capture, being used as a vessel for Ion, the entity of will. The 2 entities then proceeded to battle it out inside Alan. While they were doing that, Alex came in and used his blue lantern ring to tip the fight in Ion's favor. Then the guardians showed up and had the energy of Parallax divided up among all 13 green lantern rings he acquired while controlling Alan. By spreading its energy among the rings from each of the sectors it attacked, the guardians hoped to drastically reduce the chances of it returning to cause more trouble.
