It usually takes me around 3-5 hours to complete a composition, but since I was recording my Photoshop methods, I did this Cyclops homage to Lyonel Feininger's 'Bird Sky' in an hour.I made a compressed video (with song), and loaded it up on youtube

This is a very powerful piece. The emotion that the soul human figure has is so completely absent from the cosmic entity he's fighting. Whether or not Jean is inside the Phoenix is a moot point. Scott is raging against what the force stands for, and the damage it;s done. The colors are brilliant, the contrasts of the blues and the oranges, the light of the Phoenix against the shadows of Cyclops's black suit. My particular favorite part of it is the refracted prisms as his powers are shattered and bounced almost harmlessly away from the Phoenix. All in all, a simply stunning piece.

So, first off, the color scheme you chose is absolutely stunning, and the bold and powerful colors really harmonize beautifully together. The originality of this is also refreshingly overwhelming. I love how you made the structure of the Phoenix and the background within the piece. The design is so unique and very catching to the eye, I've seen a ton of Phoenix/Cyclops pieces but this one really got my attention. The emotion you portray with Scott Summers in this picture gives off a simple, determined, yet, brute force; plus a slight hint of heartbreak and longing. Also, clearly the technique you used was effective because it's aesthetically amazing.
