Actually, she did leak naked photos of herself (her bare breasts and full rear nudity) a few months before the movie was released. Supposedly her boyfriend took them, but it's Hollywood. She did it on purpose. <.<

Because she's a pointless talking set of boobs that has no personality, acting ability, or reason to be on screen other than to trick lonely fanboys into thinking SOMEHOW they'll get to see her lady parts by watching her stale and dry character pretend to be emote anything. My girlfriend is leaps and bounds more attractive than her, no director takes her remotely seriously, she's a diva to her fans, and there's absolutely nothing special about her whatsoever that deserves all the attention she gets and the more other people love her, the more I can't stand her. Heh, you sound like this is something personal. I actually really liked her in Avengers. I had low expectations considering I've never seen her in anything else and how little she did in Iron Man 2, but I was pleasantly surprised. Her character was far more interesting than most other comic book movie chicks I've seen.

It was actually another movie that created this anger for her months ago. It was a serious movie where it was very dramatic, and she just was so out of place. It's like they said, "this movie's going to be boring and no one will see it...I know, let's get that hottie everyone is obsessed over and tickets will sell like crazy!" The whole movie she pretended to be plain and boring, but really was way too attractive for her character, and then she kept just acting like she was reading the lines and never changing her expression. People only watch her "indie" films cuz they hope she'll get nude and when she doesnt they realize they've been duped and obsess over that one seen where she was ALLLMOOOOOST nekkid and thus I have to see that avatar gif EVERYWHERE!!! But...sadly, she wasn't unbearable in Avengers, actually made me chuckle a few times (it's really just the IDEA of her and Hawkeye that bothered me because they BOTH didn't fit), but by now it's been a running joke in my comic so long that I had to close out the gag on a bang. Plus, the hatred gets a lot of attention from fanboys and other people who hate her. :-P

Despite not fitting in, I think Avengers actually handled Hawkeye and Widow well. My boyfriend and I were both expecting to hate those characters because of the way they seemed randomly thrown into Iron Man 2 and Thor. However I don't think they stuck out that bad because the movie acknowledged that they were utterly out of their league. They do covert ops for SHIELD, not frontline fighting. When facing the Hulk, Widow never tries to engage him, she just runs. And when he backhands her, she spends a legitimate amount of time sitting in the fetal position shaking. Hawkeye can't even resist Loki's magic and he spends the whole final fight on a building being the team's scout. In the end I think them sticking out was a good thing. It made the movie more realistic. I mean if the two of them were actually on par with Iron Man and Thor, it'd be pretty weird.

I actually think Avengers was a perfect movie and when it comes to DVD I will watch it again and again, but its mostly Iron Man 2 and other movies that started this fued. However, Iron Man, Avengers, and the spin off their trying to do all miss one huge glaring problem I had since day one. Why doesn't ANYONE expect a Russian spy named Natasha Romanov, the most Russian name in the world, with a dark emotionless and fearless attitude, to speak with a GODDAMN RUSSIAN ACCENT??? If I read the comics, that's how she sounded in my head! Even when she says in Avengers, "In Russian, or I used to be", she days it with the most Midwestern American bland accent.

Comic book Black Widow doesn't have any accent due to her spec-ops training. Also I think its hinted in the movie that SHIELD fucked with her head when she joined on.

I don't really see where Black Widow (or Hawkeye) fit in the movies at all really. God, Mechanical Man, Hulk Monster, Super Soldier, and....two normal human beings who...know....REALLY good kung foo and bow hunting? They just seemed outta place. Maria Hill I had no problem with, be pretty in the background and don't try to do anything or act. I'm a filmmaker, and I hate the methods we use.

see, you tell that to Stan Lee, they are characters that actually exist in the Marvel Univers and you can't just eliminate them as if you were some kind of master of everything
but if you could do that, then you would just have the iconinc Avengers, and the movie could have worked that way... those are two different theories and both are correct

When I want to watch Iron Man which I love, and has enough female elements with Pepper Potts, but they throw Black Widow into the sequel for absolutely NO reason. The whole story doesn't accept her. She plays a MILD love "temptation" of Tony that...just never happens or really affects ANYONE for more than 10min and she has a completely pointless scene where she kicks a lot of ass (which...actually was kinda kickass!) but all that just to hack a computer which ANYONE COULD HAVE DONE! If you watch the movie and imagine all here scenes were removed you'd realize the story doesn't change at all. There was NO purpose for her in Iron Man 2 other than...spandex service.
