Yessss! I''ve finally finished my fursona's reference sheet!It seemed to take forever because as easily as I can do the line-art I really struggle with colours and patterns. What has now been 2 days of experimentation has resulted in something I'm quite proud of ;D But please critique away, I gladly accept constructive criticism.
I needed to do this for a while now. Sorry to my watchers if you are confused about Sludge's anatomy and colour changes. As much as I liked the old design it was too striped (yes it still is) and, well, this is just more what I wanted. I think bees are one of my favourite animals next to wolves and this just suited my character more than the mis-shaped insect legs from before.... Now he has 6 legs (yes still again), and the two front smaller ones have thumbs!
Lots of changes, guess I'll be needing to make a new icon~
If I have asked you to draw Sludge just use your best judgement for wing colour. I usually use a blue that's similar in hue to the stripes and of 50% opacity for each to get a nice overlap effect.
Name: Sludge.
Gender: Male.
Species: Just a one-of-a-kind European wolf/bee/other hybrid. Please do not ask if you can make a character with this species or anatomy.
Personality/Traits: Blunt and straight to the point. Likes to help others whenever possible. Sometimes says things without thinking but generally means well. Humorous, very funny at times.

Thank you, and I have no idea. I guess the creativity comes from smashing my head against a brick wall for 2 days trying to come up with the colour design 
But truthfully; like anything it just takes practice and patience.

But god, the proportions! And that ANATOMY! Ogod look i know you get to create your own anatomy when you create imaginary charaters, but It should look SOMEWHAT believable RIGHT????

Proportions are one of the hardest things!
It takes a lot of drawing to get them looking kinda right. I do heaps of traditional sketches and most of the time the head is too big or the anatomy is messed up. It happens to everyone!
Yes I suppose you do get to create your own anatomy, but it helps to base it off something that you can reference if you're unsure. The orange creature you made looks a bit like a possum (Aussie possums look different to the American ones), you could always look them up on Google to get a better idea of proportions and anatomy?

It's an excellent color scheme, and it all flows excellently!
The little arms are adorable, and I think (if it's possible) they're even cuter than his previous fly legs. ^^

Amazing, amazing job, Sludge. He really looks magnificent! Sometimes when people change their characters, I get disappointed because I liked the old design better, but I can honestly say that I am not disappointed at all, not in the least. HE'S MAGNIFICENT! ^^

THANK YOU SO MUCH I truly love him, he is my favourite character now. Thats the way it ought to be with a fursona. I think the colour scheme looks kinda beach-y (even tho I hate the beach) but thats ok because it works so well.
I must say I do like them little arms. The insects legs were cool for a little while because they were new, but in retrospect they didn't look anywhere near as good as good 'ol fashion paws
The colours were giving me so much grief OMG, I was using a light yellow instead of the white but this just makes it pop out a lot more and somehow looked better. The tail was the thing that got me... As much as I liked the crazy colours I had before it wasn't as well balanced as it is now with the brown. Awww thank you for noticing! I had no idea what to do the antennae and paws, I was going with red or blue but in the end it didn't look right. The green was refreshing so I kept it
Thank you for linking how my character looks now. I now changing characters appearances can cause some waves, but he was still relatively new to the crew. MUST DRAW HIM NOW! Yo when you get your new Paya reference done the first thing I'm gonna do it draw them together

I'm sure you will get there, don't stop until your happy! In my case that took days but hopefully you already know payas design well enough to do it in a few hours

Very unique design here, its great! Love the pattern on the tail, and the blue on its back is a nice contrast to all of the yellows, really pops.
