The halo represents a giant earhole floating in space and the green dude is the clump of earwax trying to reach up over the halo/earhole witht he cotton bud in order to escape the ear but his arm isnt long enough. There you go!

Well this seems different from your usual. I'm not going to attempt the BS coz the first comment was plain awesome.
But I like the scribbly stars. Did you make a brush or just draw a shit ton and scan them in and layer?

Oh, sorry, forgot about the star comment. I just sketched one in Photoshop with my tablet, and then converted it to a brush. Then I just set the brush on scatter, and rotation, and scribbled all over.

Every week during staff meeting at work, I start to draw these weird things. Someone made a remark about them in the last meeting, so when I got home I scanned and colored it and emailed it to 'em for a laugh.
Figured I'd post it as well.

Oh, bring it on. High school art pushed so much BS ability into my head that it's coming out of my ears.
I'm sure you haven't realised it yet, but this work is a deep expression of the agony of attempting to live up to a virtuous ideal in a chaotic modern world. The subject is a gnarled green creature reminiscent of a fairytale goblin. Its brow is wrinkled and its eye popping with stress as it attempts to conform to expectations by wearing superficial symbols of innocence: a wing, a halo and child-like star earrings. The star-like marks around the halo also point to the purity associated with immaturity, but their resemblance to popping bubbles allude to alcoholism. Several other visual symbols are present. The cotton bud with marks indicating dynamism is an expression of the pain resulting from an attempted inner catharsis. The creature's loincloth is a strong symbol of humankind's inner tribal nature and the associated animal urges which the modern vision of an 'angel' tries to suppress. This is where the 'Inside Voices' come in, with the internal battle between the angelic social ideal and a more instinctive nature. This struggle is also represented in the contrast between the fairy-floss pink and white background and the earthy tones of the creature and the image's border, and again in the bandaged stump and scar on the creature, signs of a conflict.
Wow, that was way too easy. I was sure that picture didn't actually have a meaning, but now I'm not so sure. Scary.

If this was only a High School interpretation, I'd hate to see the Post-grad thesis for a doctorate in Art critique and history!

Even if no one else attempts an explanation, that was worth it. Proceed directly to graduation, you pass.
