As many of you already know, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has recently come out and like ANY recent Pokemon games, it's been met with mixed results, especially due to its, if we're being completely honest here, glitching and bugs.

I do believe Gamefreak needs to improve on how they make 3D Pokemon games and convince Nintendo to change their release schedule, but at the same time, I personally feel like we as fans also play a role in the problems for current Pokemon games. Pushing Gamefreak constantly compare to other games like Breath of the Wild for example, or just constantly being negative towards them in general. Look, it’s absolutely ok to hate their recent Pokemon games, but some of the complaints (more specifically the toxic complaints) are also apart of the problem in my honest opinion. I remember when Black and White came out, it received LOTS of negativity at first, but now it’s considered one of the best Pokemon games. Kind of ironic, but it's honestly become a repeating cycle for EVERY new Pokemon game. Fans will find something about the game to complain, but eventually those complaints die out unless it's actually something worth complaining. I mean, they definitely have a reason to complain now, but at the same time, it's been getting pretty tiring of how Pokemon fans will always complain about the newest game when announced or released.

So if we as fans allow Gamefreak more time to get more comfortable with the new way they’re making Pokemon games WITHOUT insisting/demanding they need to be like other games, maybe we’d be a much better fanbase. Now before anyone rages at me, I’m not saying Gamefreak shouldn’t improve, I’m just saying they shouldn’t try to be like other games like they did for Sword and Shield and especially Scarlet and Violet, and just be them. Even if I don't mind Sword and Shield as most (toxic) Pokemon fans do, I still feel like it could've been something more without sharing elements of BOTW.

While not necessarily a rant (thank goodness for that) this is just something I feel like I needed to get off my chest.
