the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens : a quick, visual survey of the foreground and background bokeh of a variety of lenses.

Gorgeous, Gorgeous image! This is beautiful. It was killing me because I could not figure out how to create the Bokeh effect on my camera, but last night I FINALLY got it and it is so amazing.
Do you happen to live in California? This picture oozes it

I live in Las Vegas right now I'm from Hong Kong!
This photo was taken in California though. It must be the sunset and the palm trees
Glad you figured out how to play with bokeh. It's fun!

I take a photography class at my middle school. Today, my friend brought in a group of photographs of candles and wine bottles, and one of them was like this: out of focus, with a lot of bright bokeh. Our teacher told her that her photographs weren't good enough to work with, and that she would have to shoot them again. I told him that I liked the one that was all out of focus, and he said this:
"You know, every year I get students that like pictures where everything's out of focus. But a photograph is never good unless it's sharp and in focus."
That immediately brought to mind your photo right here, which I found when it received a Daily Deviation a few days ago, picked out among so many others by the Abstract & Surreal Photography Gallery Moderator. It's a beautiful photo, and still, everything is out of focus. And it made me wonder whether my art teacher really knew a whole lot about art. I mean, I do agree that if something is unintentionally blurry, then it doesn't look nice, but sometimes it adds to the picture. Like here.
Anyway, enough of my rant, but I wanted you to know that I thought of this even outside of deviantART. I really do love it. The colors are wonderful and, of course, the blurriness is too.

Aww, thank you
I never meant for this to be anything but a fun little snapshot. There were just a lot of lights going on while I was in a car, and back then I was very shutter-happy

LOVE IT.
I really need to know how to do this with a regular camera. Is it possible?

A regular camera, as in a little digicam? :

Uhh, a point-n'-shoot kind of camera, you know (:

I guess if you have a manual setting on your point and shoot, you can turn it to that, or at least turn off auto-focusing, then you should be okay
