Synopsis: "A band manager named Colonel Carper wants to manage Spongebob and Squidward as a band. However, Mr. Krabs wants to manage them for his own greed."

This is regarded as one of the best episodes of season 8, with good reason. It has a good story , good comedy, and great characters. Let me talk about what stands out.

Spongebob- I like Spongebob here. Even though things don't turn out well, he still has that childlike optimism. Plus, he's more about spending time with his friends.

Squidward- Squidward here is pretty good. You feel for him when things don't go his way. Some say he's abused for no reason. I say that not every thing bad that happens to a character is character abuse. Plus, he at least thinks he won at the end, which I'll talk about in a bit.

Mr. Krabs- This episode shows Mr. Krabs' greed well. He's greedy, but not too greedy. He still wants the band to succeed. Plus, he gets his comeuppance at the end when he loses his money.

Colonel Carper- Colonel Carper, our antagonist voiced by Andy Samberg, is pretty good. Considering Mr. Krabs stole his equipment, his behavior is understandable.

Music- Like "Atlantis SquarePantis", this is a musical episode. Although, this episode had the edge since I like the music here more. Spongebob and Squidward Rock the ukulele/ clarinet combo. The songs are pretty good, and give important exposition.

Ending- The ending to this episode is pretty good. It was shown that the audience was attracted to the light show instead of Spongebob and Squidward. But, considering the duo thought they were famous, and nothing came in their way, it's still satisfying.

Final Rank: Great

I hate it when Squidward doesn't have a happy ending. Why him?! He's not an antagonist!

In early episodes he was an antagonist, so modern writers think of him as one.

Ok but he's not! Don't you ever feel bad for him?

Yes I do. I'm not saying I condone the Squidward torture episodes (read my top ten worst Spongebob episodes list for more on that), I was just answering your question.
