Running out of ideas for titles for all these Ludwig drawings, heh

SO if I'm allowed to ramble for a bit about my favourite thing about his design:

His face is quite clearly divided in half, with the left-hand side being more ‘‘‘‘human’’’’, and the right being considerably more beastly. This extends beyond just his face, too; there’s that great big eye-mouth on the right of his neck for a start, his right forearm is covered in longer fur, and his right hand is bigger and has much longer claws. He holds his sword, the very thing that brought him back out of beasthood, in his left hand (hooray for lefty Ludwig!), and maybe it’s just me, but his left eye looks like it clears up a bit in his second phase, too.

But it’s how each half is presented in-game that I think is really cool. In his first phase, he tends to hold his head at an angle and close to the ground, so you can only really see its right-hand side - his ‘beast’ side. But then in the cutscene that plays between phases, the only side of his face that’s shown is the left side, showing that he’s human again. At the battle’s end, his head is on the ground resting right-side-up as he gives his last few lines of dialogue, before falling back into beasthood for good. In the words of our good friend Simon - the poor brute…

(And as a final side-note, you could say that this 'two sides' imagery extends to people's mixed views of him back when he was human, or how he was both 'led' and 'misled' by the light of his sword, but that's probably a bit of a stretch)

Anyway I love this great big sad ugly old horse man who made a lot of mistakes but was only trying his best and deserved better
