. . . So, imagine, if you will, that you're returning to the grand ship that is the Bebop, after yet another adventurous as well as tumultuous day of trying to catch one of your bounties (who just had to unfortunately lead you to planet Earth of all archaic planets).

And what do you happen to encounter in the lounge area of the spaceship, instead of SOME kind of meager dinner that you're used to (not) enjoying?

None other than everyone's favorite Little Mermaid, of course. ^_____^

I just find this one supremely and beyond cute, and something I really enjoyed doing (with partial pose ref from random official TLM artwork, as well as partial pose ref from official Cowboy Bebop artwork). LoL This is what can happen when you stay out on the deck in the humidity and sunshine for most of the day, and a low supply of water (because you were too lazy to go seven feet back inside and into the kitchen to get some more ~_~').

It'd just come to me, after I remembered seeing a really cute gif animation of Ariel a friend sent to me. And I originally was just going to draw her (who has Flounder on her head while lying on a rock on the surface in the original one, I think). But I loved her "lazy day" expression too much to let it go to waste.

So that's where my beloved Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop comes into play. ^_^ Since he's ALWAYS being or doing funny things in the series, and SO "cool" that even the most bizarre of occurrences never seem to jar him FROM said "coolness," I thought I'd draw them together. LoL

So, to ME, that "lazy day" face of Ariel NOW looks like she's completely taken and enamored with Spike (and with good reason. He's WAY hotter than Eric LoL) after he came into the lounge area to find a freaking "woman-fish" lying on their recliner. (Got lazy with that so didn't bother to do better detail on said recliner.)

And he, of course, although extremely surprised by the sight, is keeping HIS lazy, laid back traditional cool, and just sat a few feet (which I know doesn't look like it's a "few feet," but that's cuz my sketch pad is of the "small" size variety and I was obviously limited in space) away from her, pulls out his pack of cigs, lights one up and figures,

"What the hell? At least PART of her is human, anyway..."

and just silently extends the pack to her as you see here, trying to offer her one.

P.S. And why/how is Ariel in the Bebop at all? How the hell should I know? LoL Let's just assume, for this drawing's sake anyway, that Ariel is close to immortal, and managed to still be this youthful in appearance by the time it's the year 2071 and Spike's era. ^_^

And then since Jet likes to fish at times and such, while Spike's busy trying to catch the bounty on Earth, he lands the Bebop in a dock somewhere, and just casts the line and...BAM! Curious Ariel grabs a hold of it and becomes the crew's dinner. (Or, at least, she WOULD have been, if Jet or the others had ever seen an actual mermaid before and knew what to DO with it. OR how to shut her up, since we ALL know how much Ariel loves the human world and talking, period LoL)

Hmm...this would make a great fanfic...LoL

P.P.S. Had zero clue what to call this drawing, but I think the ". . ."'s speak for itself, in my opinion. Wouldn't YOU have nothing at all to say if ever faced with a real life mermaid? o_O'
