Well, one tip I could give about drawing backgrounds, is to first try to draw everything you see around you, from the trees you pass by while walking, to the sky during sunrise in front of your window..that's how I started drawing backgrounds, soon you'll get the hang of it..just draw everything around you, and then begin to go into topics like perspective and depth, and stuff! You'll be there in no time!

Hehe, yeah, laziness is also sometimes my proble, that's why I bring a small sketchpad everywhere I go so when I feel like drawing something, it's that easy..but of course taking pcitures for reference can also do good!
