as it always happens w my ocs, honeymoon is over and i uhh dont care much abt the statue anymore. what happens is just that without a story i see no point. oh well. i wanna try to build one

i think this theoretically could fit as a transformation prompt but ill choose to forfeit the bonus bc i feel its not quite what the prompt is asking? ill ask the discord server i think

the statue's first memory is seeing its reflection on a very shallow pool of water near the obelisk that birthed it. it knows that's not really the beginning of its story, because it does know it wasn't born on that pool. it knows the obelisk is where it all began, it knows that as clearly as it knows it is made of alabaster. if it strains its mind enough, it can remember being walked from the obelisk to this pool, guided by unknown forces it now knows must be their creator. but all that is not important to the memory.

the statue's first memory is seeing its reflection and knowing that it was wrong. the statue's first memory is gazing into the beady black eyes and not recognizing itself. the statue's first memory is the sudden realization that it was different now, and the chilling thought that it did not know what was different, what was wrong, and what was it supposed to see in that shallow pool.

the statue's first memory is watching the pool until it dried and all that was left to see was its wrong, wrong shadow in the sand.

the statues process of like...... processing wtf happened and was happening and who it was and what it was was and the reason behind all that was quite long and difficult. its creator was nowhere to be seen, and even if they were around the statue doubts it would recognize them. it has no hard feelings for them, but sometimes it does wish things had been different and they were there to talk about the transformation. it sees transformation as an extremely delicate process, not unlike the metamorphosis of a butterfly, and it feels being left to its own devices on the loneliness of the desert was much like someone prying it from the chrysalis before time was due. it never vowed not to transform anyone or something of that sort, because it was so long until it learned it could transform esks that it was rather chill abt the whole thing, but it does think its not its decision to make for someone
