Description
Time for this cool guy: Eldritch Elricson.Eldritch was a character I created in late '90s and played in a game set in the "Basic D&D World" of Mystara - although we played in a very customised version of the setting, less fairy-tale & gonzo and more grimdark and high-fantasy.
Eldritch was born as a regular guy in Soderfjord, one of the warring viking nations of the North.
At a young age he left his country home to live the life of the soldier. As soon as he showed some magical skills he was sent to be trained in Alphatia to become a battle-mage, one of the team of the special strike force Alphatians used against their enemies to quickly end any battle, wielding destructive magic and martial skills alike.
During his final training he was exposed to the power of a magical artifact of enormous power, the Mana Stone, emanating raw magical energy in a controlled environment to enhance the trainee natural skill limits in wielding magic. Eldritch however, being a daredevil, sneaked in the artifact's inner room and touched it with his bare hands. Immediately the enormous power of the gem channeled through his whole body and mind permeating the very essence of his being. Eldritch acquired enormous magical power but also obtained to be immediately cast away and sentenced to death by his Alphatians trainers, forced to flee in the frozen northern reaches of Norwold, and from then on he had to come to terms with a power too great for a mere human being to contain.
He became the bright(est) light that burns twice as fast. While he was battling hordes of foes and his power was growing bigger and bigger, his survival was more and more hanging by a thread. Each spell cast more powerful than the previous one was more likely to kill him...
As you can see for this redesign I kept the character's concept almost unchanged. I slimmed him down a bit because he looked too buff, although he was a pretty athletic guy. I left virtually identical the battle-staff made of a special super-light magical metal alloy and of course the steampunk trench coat & hat.

Hello! Sorry to bother you, but are you open to commissions? i have a large project I'm working on (a D&D book about the world I've created and cultivated for nearly 15 years). If you are indeed to open to commissions, how much would you charge for illustrations of this detail, but with basic coloring? I need a skilled artist to draw the important characters of my world, of which there are many. It would be a fairly big project, but I am willing to pay a (fair) price. The total illustrations would probably reach 80-100.

This seems pretty true to Mystara though. The whole planet is powered by a giant mana rock under Glantri.
It's a very fun idea. All my guys end up coming from Thyatis and Karameikos.

Yes the Mana Stone was drawn from the canon: it was actually a shard of the Glantri Stone (that was itself a Blackmoor artifact if I'm not mistaken)...
